To develop state specific strategy for data/information, data sharing mechanism among the network agencies,
stakeholders and local people Himalayan Knowledge Network - Himachal Regional Centre (HRC) supported two webinars on different occasions:
1) On the occasion of International Day of Biological diversity 2021 carrying the theme:
" We are part of the solution #For Nature ", role and need of the HKN was described to all
the participants. Participants were from different Universities, R&D Institutes and Youth forum.
Guest speaker was Dr. Ambrish Kumar, Scientist-E, High Altitude Western Himalayan Regional Centre,
Botanical Survey of India, Himachal Pradesh.
He delivered a lecture on "Plant Diversity and Conservation in Himalayan: Role of Botanical Survey of India".
The lecture was informative and was very important from HKN's point of view.
On this occasion an online Photo competition was organised and supported by HKN on theme
“Biodiversity of Himachal Pradesh” to provide opportunity to the young researchers to
highlight the richness, uniqueness and socio-cultural values of biodiversity of Himachal Pradesh.
2) On the occasion of World Environment Day 2021 carrying the theme "Ecosystem Restoration"
participants from different Universities, R&D institutes and Youth forum participated in the
webinar organized by Himachal Regional Centre which was supported by HKN. Guest speaker was Dr. Santanu Mukherjee, School of Agriculture Sciences, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
He delivered a lecture on " Ecosystem Restoration in North-western Himalaya".
On this occasion a Popular article competition was organised and supported by HKN on theme
“Ecosystem Restoration”. Researchers, faculties, academicians from different institutes participated in this competition.
