Uttrakhand Space Application Center (USAC), Dehradun in collaboration with G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBPNIHE), Almora held a state level consultation workshop (virtual mode) on 26-06-2021 with different Institutes, Universities, Line departments and NGOs of Uttarakhand to develop and implement Himalayan Knowledge Network (HKN) in Uttarakhand.
Main objective of the consultation workshop was to identify two thematic areas for the state of Uttarakhand. Based on the inputs received from various departments following four major
areas were identified.
(i) Disaster Management
(ii) Responsive tourism
(iii) Agro-Horticulture Development
(iv) Biodiversity management
On the basis of the Government of the
Uttrakhand priority following two thematic areas were finalized
1. Disaster Management
2. Resposnsive Tourism Development
USAC will prepare a Science-Policy-Practice document on the finalized thematic areas.
